Factsheet Speed Profiles	1 April 2010
Actual driving speed information from TomTom has been available in ViaStat since autumn 2009. The factsheet provides information on the development and possible applications of these ‘Speed Profiles'. Speed Profiles provide information on actual driving speeds, based on anonymous GPS measurements gathered from TomTom navigation systems. The derived speed profile for each road section and direction of travel is shown in ViaStat. This information can be displayed using various map views in ViaStat. Examples of available maps for the road network are: driving speed per 15 minutes driving speed compared with speed limit time for which speed limit exceeded time for which free flow speed applies driving speed per 15 minutes compared with free flow speed (delays & traffic jam formation).
