# New BLIQ now available with preliminary figures for 2020

Road safety initiative STAR is presenting provisional accident figures for 2020. Although provisional figures can still change, they are nevertheless very useful. For example, SWOV used the preliminary STAR figures to determine the expected developments in 2020. All Dutch road authorities and the police can now use the figures smartly to proactively tackle road safety with the latest BLIQ and the update of CROSS.

## SWOV uses preliminary annual figures of STAR
[SWOV](http://www.swov.nl) used the provisional annual figures from the [STAR ](http://www.star-verkeersongevallen.nl)database in its [Staat van de Verkeersveiligheid 2020](https://www.swov.nl/file/18485/download?token=i_T1DsBF). These preliminary figures showed, among other things, that nationally, road fatalities are hardly influenced by the reduced mobility due to corona. The injuries decreased temporarily, mainly among pedestrians, car occupants, children and on national roads. SWOV did not wait for the definitive figures to encourage the taking of more and more effective measures.

## BLIQ: getting started with preliminary figures
Road authorities consult the figures via BLIQ. This is a ready-to-use road safety report (issued by STAR) that shows the road safety information for 2016 to 2020. These are not only the accident figures, but also speed data. BLIQ can be downloaded by government bodies via our software. Are you a road manager and do you not yet have a VIA account? ## CROSS updated
The draft accident figures for 2020 and the current speeds are now also included in CROSS. This means that the CROSS map (both on www.bliq.report and in the VIA Software) and in the chapter on CROSS in the latest BLIQ report contain the accident data from Q1 2016 to Q4 2020 and the speeds from December 2020. .
